I'm playing around with an app called "Automate"
The applications uses "Blocks" connected by "fibers" creating "flows". You can use this to automate a variety of things using a relatively simple interface.
I used this to shut my tablet off after sensing loss of charge (key pulled) (after a 10 sec delay to avoid shutting down while cranking).
I had a few questions which the developer promptly answered and I got the app to do exactly what I want.
I feel that this is a good alternative to Tasker, and it's free.
