This is an old install.. It has been replaced with an android Head unit, but I have toyed with going back to a Tablet if I can get everything working well
Outside of the amps and speakers here was the main pieces of my install
- Nexus 7 2012 32gb
- Behringer UCA-202 DAC
- USD 64gb Flash drive
- DMHD1000 Directed HDTuner with MJS cable.
-b0bd's radio.apk
Pitfalls, the system was quirky there was no volume control of the HDtuner as it was the input RCAs of the DAC and not controlled by the tablet. When I removed it I play with Autodroid, which seems a bit better and I found a better radio.apk someone on rootzwiki made which included the USB/232 drivers (unlike b0bd's). So I have a radio interface that seems good, but the volume is still an issue.
I used a Log potentiometer to control volume and balance but I really did not like it that way (no mute for the radio side).
here are a couple pictures:
Currently i have a newsmy Nu3001 in the car, it added the backup camera and aux in for the tuner, but I have other things that bug me.
I have been using the autosense app (autosenseeapp.com) along with the shield and DUE with my Newsmy.. oither than a couple broken wires I found it works fine and will continue to use that due/shield. I am now looking at all options for control of the autosense hardware that perform the best. I can even add the audio control to the shield..

I stumbled on the forum after reading about removing the battery from the nexus, which my first install did not have and I wanted to implement. I currently own 2 N7 2012s and one N7 2013 LTE with Marshmallow 6.0.1. The LTE would be so nice in the car I have been seriously considering going that route with the new tablet, if it can fit in my confined space..
