hello people
my name is douglas, i do live in france so please excuse myself if some of my english is not really perfect.
i have decided 10days ago to install a nexus 7 (2012) as a replacement of the horrible mazda computer board with a navigation system so slow, you would arrive to london by the time it would have loaded itself ... anyway..
so for the "installation part" this is how i did..
first the tab is install instead of the original screen (no problem with that)
i did cut the back of the tab so the original usb / charging socket would be free to go further down behind the stereo ... blabla bla
i did plug the tab usb socket with the original usb cable to a cigarette lighter 3A i bought. this will be then attach to a swtich ON/OFF to start and "charge" the tab when i am driving and when the car is running (only) so i would not drain the battery of my car.. (it is a rx8 mazda i mostly use less than once a month unfortunatly). the switch is welded (attached) to the back of the original cigarette lighter.
Once i did all of this, i rooted the tab and add a launch command so :
1/ when the car is running and i want to use the tab, i use the switch to ON and it launches itself and i use it as a dashboard blabla sat nav and etc etc...
2/ when i arrive at destination, i switch to OFF, the tab is no longer charging, i use a SHUTDOWN app to stop the tab and VOILAAAAA
the only trouble is .. in less then 10 days the tab battery dropped from 65% to 20% and today i drove for 1h and it only charged 10%... so i am embarassed because the tab drain itself faster than i can charge it....
so i am asking you help to confirm if :
1) by removing the tab battery, i could use the car to launch the tab by istelf with my switch....
2) if we "think" or suspect that the usb socket of the tab is not enought powerful to charge or is defective... (it is not a brand new one lol) i could "weld" the cable from the lighter to the tab battery to charge better ?
3) could we use the car instead the tab battery ? so when i switch ON i would launch itself and whenever i stop the car and switch after to OFF, no electric power to the tab so it would shutdown itself
4) please i wish you all understood me correctly lol
thanks for reading
cheers
